True, Hancock has his cheesy years in the early 80's with 2 synth-pop hit albums that went to the top of the charts with the help of the good old MTV. But that, by no means, makes this man less of a genius (remember your own haircut back then?). Being one of the greatest Jazz musicians in the history of the genre, and perhaps the most influential living Jazz legend today, Hancock has done everything from Bebop to Free Jazz, Fusion, and even Hip Hop. His 1973 masterpiece, Head Hunters, sounds strangely modern and progressive even today. With Future 2 Future, he is giving us a healthy dose of Drum n' Bass! This CD also features Bill Laswell and Wayne Shorter, Jazz masters in their own right. The music on this CD is tight, thoughtfully written, and yes, very progressive.
